Bristol Focus Relocates, Becomes 'User Viewing'

UK fieldwork services company People for Research has combined its user testing lab and focus group facility under a new name, User Viewing, and moved the facility to a central Bristol office space, just off Queen Square.

'Facilities need to adapt' says founder Paul GoodingPeople for Research is a specialist recruiter of participants for a wide range of research, in the UK and overseas - including usability testing, focus groups, depth interviews, mobile app testing, store treks, pilot groups and e-surveys. Earlier this year, the firm relocated its Usability and MR Participant Recruitment team to larger premises in the city.

Formerly known as Bristol Focus, User Viewing offers a collaborative hub for UXers, digital marketing specialists, market research and fieldwork companies. The facility comprises a series of rooms including a smaller room for 1-2-1 web site or app testing, in-depth interviews and card sorts; and a large room for focus groups, large card sorts, and user journey mapping. It is also equipped with a camera set up to film web site or device usage; and a bespoke system for streaming a screen in real-time from the user testing room into a client viewing room is currently in development.

Founder and MD Paul Gooding comments: 'Ultra high definition cameras, and the shift towards more usability/UX-type research away from the traditional focus groups, means that facilities need to adapt to the change. We have taken a bold step in moving away from mirror viewing, but one which is right for the new environment that now exists. I'm really pleased that we are the first and only facility in the South West to offer both bespoke UX and focus group viewing'.
