Organic Growth, Just, for GfK

GfK has reported 0.7% organic growth for the third quarter, with sales in Euros up 4% to EUR 371.4m. For the first nine months of the year, the group saw sales rise 6.0% to EUR 1.118bn - up just 0.4% in organic terms.

Matthias HartmannAdjusted operating income for Q3 was flat in real terms at EUR 47.7m (up 3.6% in Euros); while third quarter EBITDA was up 5.5% in Euros to EUR 57.4m.

The firm says it accepts declines in sales while its Consumer Experiences sector is being realigned. In the third quarter, sales for the division were up just 1.0% in Euros to EUR 201.9m, and for the nine month period, they rose 4.4% to EUR 623.3m - both are declines at constant currency. In the Consumer Choices business, Q3 sales rose 8.4% to EUR 168.8m, and for the nine months, they were up 8.5% to EUR 493.1m - both representing real-terms growth.

CEO Matthias Hartmann (pictured) commented: 'As intended, we have achieved moderate growth, and the figures are within our expected range. Also because of the sales that are now being generated through the TV research contract in Brazil, we are confident that we will achieve our annual targets'.
