Ipsos Names New Leaders in ANZ and SEA

Ipsos has named Simon Wake Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand, replacing Hamish Munro, who has been promoted to the position of CEO of Ipsos South East Asia. They will take up their new roles in January.

Simon Wake and Hamish MunroWake joined the group in 2013, and is currently MD of Ipsos MediaCT, responsible for the Enhanced Media Metrics Australia (emma) initiative. Prior to this, he worked for nine years at Fairfax Media, latterly as Marketing & Circulation Director, and previously in senior market research and customer insights roles. Earlier, he was Director of Millward Brown's media measurement arm Precis, and a Project manager at ANOP Research Services.

Munro moves up after two years as CEO for Australia & New Zealand. He worked previously as CEO, South East Asia for TNS, ad before that for Research International as MD, Hong Kong / Taiwan. In his new position, Munro replaces Grant Bertoli, who has moved to a mobile loyalty firm in Thailand called Buzzebees, as CEO of its online panel Marketbuzzz.

Both Wake and Munro will report to Ipsos Asia Pacific CEO Lifeng Liu, who comments: 'Simon has demonstrated success through his innovative thinking capability and commercial orientation. I am confident that he and the team will continue the momentum of the business already established in ANZ. I would also like to extend my appreciation to Hamish who has led ANZ in its transitional period. He knows the South East Asia region very well, and I am confident that he will work collectively with our country managers to achieve Ipsos' common goals'.
