Portland Hires for New Strategic Insights Post

In the UK, branding and retail design consultancy Portland has hired trends insight specialist Terna Jibo for the newly created position of Head of Strategic Insights.

Terna JiboFounded in 1987, Portland Design has offices in London, Dubai and Istanbul from where it offers a range of research and insights, brand communications, retail master-planning, public realm design, signage and wayfinding services. Jibo (pictured) joins with a background in trend forecasting, consumer insight and strategic planning. Most recently, he worked at mobile marketing specialist Somo as Strategic Insight Manager, before which he was Head of Strategy at The Future Laboratory, Research and Strategy Director at Crowd DNA, and an AD at 2CV. Earlier, he held senior roles at Good Technology, and Naked Communications.

In his new role, Jibo will work with the Research Labs at Portland's parent company, architecture and design firm Perkins+Will. He is also tasked with identifying the influence of trends on retailing, and leading foresight projects into trends impacting key markets.

Portland CEO Ibrahim Ibrahim says Jibo's wide ranging experience 'boosts the firm's ability to help clients gain competitive advantage through actionable intelligence into consumer trends'.
