EA Buys Predictive Analytics and BI Firm Boire Filler Group

In Canada, marketing services and data firm Environics Analytics (EA) has acquired Toronto-based Boire Filler Group, a provider of predictive analytics, data management and business intelligence. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Richard Boire and Larry FillerFounded in 1999 by data mining and analytics exec Richard Boire and relationship marketing expert Larry Filler, the company uses data mining techniques to help clients analyze demographics about existing and potential customers - such as their age, gender, income, where they live, what they buy, and how they buy. The resulting insights help clients with predictive modelling and data management support, and ultimately the development of marketing and communications strategies.

Boire Filler's offerings will now be integrated into EA's products and services suite, enhancing its services in areas such as customer segmentation, site modelling and custom analytics. In addition, ten members of Boire Filler's team - including data analysts and client managers - will join EA's staff. EA has acquired three other firms in the last year, including Nielsen Canada's Spectra segmentation platform.

Commenting on the latest deal, Jan Kestle, President and founder of EA, said: 'More and more, clients in our industry are looking for a one-stop shop to gain a 360-degree view of the customer. Boire Filler's modelling and data management services will complement our offerings, providing additional analytics expertise to help clients engage their customers'.
