Vyking Tool Targets Ads Based on Facial Expression

In London, video ad tech and emotion analytics platform Vyking has launched a suite of tools called ReactivAds, which deliver personalized ads based on real-time analysis of facial expressions.

Stephan Klimpke and Matthew KlimpkeVyking is a cloud-based advertising platform for multi-screen video ad management and serving. The firm's emotion analytics platform uses deep learning technology to help advertisers better understand their audiences; while its Vyking for Advertising tool enables clients to manage, measure and optimize their digital video ads.

The new ReactivAds tool can recognise emotion, facial expressions and gestures, via a webcam in any device. Two ad formats are offered - reactive, where the content changes based on the user's facial expressions and traits; and immersive, where the user 'becomes part of the advertising experience'.

CTO and co-founder Stephan Klimpke says this technology provides a 'robust' way to measure facial expressions in real-time. Brother and co-founder Matthew Klimpke adds: 'We are the only video advertising platform capable of delivering ads with facial expression analysis. Emotional engagement will become the new KPI of advertising effectiveness'.
