New App Offers Access to 'Personality' Data

Digital information provider Citizenme has launched a mobile app to enable people to access their own smartphone and social media profile data, providing 'insights into their digital personality traits' and the ability to exchange their data for cash rewards with brands.

Ryan GarnerDeveloped in partnership with Cambridge University Psychometric Centre and the University of Sheffield Open Data Science Institute, the app offers people personal insights into their social media profiles, to show how their personality traits vary across different networks. It also offers cash rewards in exchange for this personal data, the ability to donate their data to charities for research and analytics purposes, and quick polls and quizzes that users can take part in to see how their opinions compare with others.

Ryan Garner (pictured), Director of Insights, says the app 'enables people to take control of their personal data, understand it and unlock its value'. He adds: 'Brands that engage with consumers through Citizenme will benefit from better quality data, rich multi-source data and built in data and text analytics'.
