KPMG Launches Insight and Innovation Centres in Aus

Professional services and consulting giant KPMG is to open an Innovation Lab in Sydney, Australia, and two clients Insight Centres in Sydney and Melbourne, starting in September this year.

The Sydney lab will take shape in the company's new office in Barangaroo International Tower Three, while the Melbourne Insight Centre will be located in the Collins Square office and open in early 2017.

Kristina Craig, previously a Director in the group's management consulting practice and co-founder of the MindArc Digital Agency, will head up the Lab, which she says will draw upon 'both technology tools and a global network of KPMG innovation leaders and subject matter experts'. At its core is a methodology which 'mines weak signals of change and maps global technology innovation trends to provide a data-driven view of disruption at a sector or company level'.

The programme will also include 'pop up' Innovation Labs across the country. The Labs will provide space 'to showcase the company's innovation, creativity and insights', and will help consultants 're-learn how to play', according to National Managing Partner Brand & Innovation Ken Reid - allowing them to 'experiment, explore, ask questions and learn about technology innovation'.

The move follows similar launches in New York and Amsterdam.
