Nielsen's Steve Matthesen Becomes Acosta CEO

In the US, retail sales, marketing and services company Acosta has appointed former Nielsen leader Steve Matthesen as President and CEO. He succeeds Robert Hill, who has become Vice Chair of the Board of Directors.

Steve MatthesenFounded in 1927 and based in Jacksonville, Florida, Acosta has grown from a local food broker to becoming an outsourced sales and marketing agency serving CPG companies and retailers across the US and Canada. Matthesen (pictured) joins with more than twenty years of experience in consumer data, analytics, business strategy and operations. For the past seven years, he worked at Nielsen, most recently as President, Global Retail, responsible for leading the firm's retailer relationships in more than 100 countries around the world. Prior to this, he was Nielsen's President, Latin America; EVP, Product; and EVP, Professional Services. Earlier, he worked for the Boston Consulting Group for more than fourteen years, latterly as Partner and Managing Director.

Hill says his replacement brings 'an analytical perspective that will accelerate Acosta's strategies and enhance the value it provides to clients and customers. He adds: 'I look forward to continuing my commitment to these relationships in a new capacity as Vice Chair of the Board, and I am pleased to welcome Steve to the Acosta team'.
