NatCen's O'Brien Joins Trajectory Partnership

In the UK, social and consumer trend forecasting firm the Trajectory Partnership has appointed former NatCen exec Jane O'Brien as a Director.

Jane O'BrienLondon-based Trajectory was launched in 2008 by former Opinion Leader MD Paul Flatters, Future Foundation co-founder Michael Willmott, and former Henley Centre MD Chris Farmelo, to apply the full range of qual and quant methods to social analysis and forecasting. In 2010, the firm acquired the GLIMPSES trends database from research, consultation and communication charity The Tomorrow Network.

O'Brien (pictured) joins with more than 25 years' experience spanning legal, social, behavioural, cultural and consumer research. For the past four years, she has worked at NatCen Social Research, most recently as Directory, Policy Research Centre, and earlier as Director of Children and Young People Research. Prior to this, she was Deputy Director of King's College London's National Academy for Parenting Research, and she spent a decade at consumer publisher Which? - initially as Head of Research and latterly as Head of Online and Print Content. She began her career in academia, before moving to cultural policy research at the Arts Council of England.

Commenting on the appointment, Flatters said: 'We're delighted to have Jane on board. Her drive and experience will be a huge asset to Trajectory, as we look to sustain the fantastic growth we have seen in recent years. Having worked previously with Jane at Which?, I also know it is going to be a lot of fun too'.
