Canadian Fieldwork Firms Combine

Canadian data collection company The Logit Group has acquired fieldwork firm Cido Research Americas, for an undisclosed sum.

Joining forces: Logit Group and Cido ResearchCido's international operations will be incorporated into the new firm as a separate division, while the combination will strengthen Logit's domestic offer to make it 'the largest, independently-owned data collection company in Canada, and one of the largest in North America'.

Cido President Tim Sinke becomes COO; Logit co-founders Anthony Molinaro and Sam Pisani join Paul Molinaro as Managing Partners; and Cido's founder and MD Roland Klassen will continue as an advisor for internationally-focused clients.

The combined group will have operations in four Canadian cities: Toronto, Montreal, Sudbury and London, Ontario; plus in Calais, ME and Wichita, KS in the United States; and San Jose in Costa Rica.

Logit was established in 1997, but has been in expansion mode recently with a move into the US in March 2014 and the opening of the 100-seat Wichita call center a year ago.

Molinaro says of the latest news: 'Bringing these two great companies together significantly strengthens our competitive position not only in Canada and the US, but also in Europe, Asia, and Latin America'. Adds Pisani: 'We've always respected Cido as a high quality research and data collection organization, so when the chance arose to bring our two companies together, we moved quickly to seize the opportunity. We look forward to exciting times ahead'.
