Big Data Firm Datameer Adds Two to Senior Team

Analytics firm Datameer has appointed George Shahid as Chief Financial Officer and Jeff Gallagher as SVP of Sales.

Datameer offers a self-service Hadoop big data application, which includes a point-and-click analytics tool and a drag-and-drop visualization solution. The firm currently has US offices in San Francisco and New York, as well as a European base in Halle, Germany.

Shahid previously served as CFO of a number of companies including Augmedix, Loyaltylab (acquired by TIBCO), Blueroads and Differential (now a part of Tumbleweed); while Gallagher has more than 25 years' experience in enterprise software, including leading sales, professional services and field operations at Oracle and Teradata. Datameer says Gallagher's previous focus on building data-driven business models and transforming existing and new business through analytics and data monetization will play a 'key role' in the firm.
