Ipsos Hires Nielsen Veteran Amy Fenton as Second CMO

Ipsos has appointed Nielsen's former Buy strategy leader Amy Fenton as Chief Marketing Officer in North America, overseeing all marketing, strategy, and communications in the US and Canada. She succeeds Jim Meyer, who was the firm's first ever CMO.

Amy FentonFenton (pictured) joins with more than 25 years' industry experience. She began her career in consumer insights roles at Procter & Gamble, before joining Nielsen in 1991 where she held a number of leadership roles in the BASES business across North America and Latin America. She later worked in London as MD of the firm's Global Unilever Business; then returned to the US, where she served as SVP, Global Corporate Social Responsibility; Executive Global Co-Leader of Women In Nielsen (WIN Employee Resource Group); and latterly, SVP, Global Corporate Buy Strategy.

At Ipsos, Fenton will focus on the firm's brand and reputation among its clients, employees and other stakeholders across North America. She takes over from Meyer, who Ipsos says has returned to his 'roots in the agency world'. Pierre Le Manh, CEO of Ipsos North America, comments: 'We plan to leverage Amy's deep experience as a market research professional, operating executive, strategist and global leader to continue expanding the reputation and impact of Ipsos in North America, in providing our clients a full understanding of people, markets and societies. In addition, her success leading global client relationships positions her well to further connect our marketing efforts with our business growth strategies'.
