WPP Launches Health and Wellness Company

WPP has formed a new sub-holding company called WPP Health & Wellness, which will work with group companies such as Kantar, GroupM and Wunderman to use data to deliver behaviour change and better health outcomes.

Mike HudnallThe new healthcare unit will bring together four of the group's specialist agencies - Ogilvy CommonHealth Worldwide, Sudler & Hennessey, ghg | greyhealth group, and CMI/Compas - to offer a specialised healthcare consulting service, building on the scale of the group's current brand strategy, medical affairs and market access capabilities. WPP says the launch will create the industry's 'most robust health-focused data and insights offering', while providing clients with more sophisticated segmentation and targeting.

WPP Health & Wellness is led by Global CEO Mike Hudnall (pictured), a twenty-year marketing veteran with experience in healthcare marketing and global client leadership. In the Americas, the individual agencies will continue to be led by their current leadership, while to service the rest of the world, the company is creating a new international healthcare specialist unit with hubs in Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. The latter international division will be led by former ghg | greyhealth group Europe CEO Claire Gillis, as International CEO, Healthcare Specialist Agencies.

Hudnall says of the launch: 'Individually our healthcare agencies are well known and respected for their strong partnership and meaningful work they deliver for our clients. This new structure centres on keeping those brands and cultures alive, builds on those strengths, and enables new cross-agency collaboration that will benefit our clients and provide greater career opportunities for our people. We are focused on sharing best practices, scaling our strengths, and developing new services'.
