Funds for Real-World Healthcare Data Provider Aetion

In New York, healthcare sector 'real-world evidence analytics' provider Aetion has raised $11.2m in a Series A funding round, which it will use to extend the capabilities of its platform, and to commercialize its solutions.

The Aetion Evidence Platform enables clients to analyze real-world data to determine medical need, comparative effectiveness, and the overall value profile of medical treatments and interventions. Clients use the platform to gain insights into the clinical and financial status of a population, and measure and compare the effectiveness and value of treatments and provider practices.

The new funding has been led by Flare Capital Partners, with participation from Lakestar. Flare's General Partner Bill Geary (pictured) says 'accurate data and real-time analyses are the underpinning of today's health sector', and enthuses: 'Aetion has assembled a knowledgeable team of leading health experts and data scientists to create a platform that delivers valuable insights for its customers'.
