NCR and Showtime Roll Out Cinema Audience Tool

Transaction technology giant NCR has integrated its point-of-sale (POS) platform with the systems of cinema data specialist Showtime Analytics, promising cinema clients a better understanding of customer needs and experience.

Richie PowerDublin-based Showtime partners with stakeholders across the cinema industry to analyse, visualise and monetise cinema data. The new partnership gives clients access to 'Insights', a cloud-based data solution offering real-time visual analytics via a standard web browser or mobile device. Each Insights dashboard provides an interactive analytical view of key areas of business focus including events, concessions, distribution analysis, occupancy, retail trends, probability analysis and real-time KPIs. User and role-based security allows cinema owners to ensure only relevant content and data is visible to specific job role and function.

Later this year, Showtime says it will add an intelligence and targeting tool called 'Engage', that will integrate into the NCR platform to provide cinema operators with a view of their customer base in a single place. CEO Richie Power (pictured) comments: 'Our platform and industry data model automatically collects and integrates multiple different data sources in real-time, providing the ability for our customers to visualize and cross analyze their data sets. Through our relationship with NCR, we provide smart, actionable results that translate right into bottom-line savings for cinemas'.
