Senior Changes at Targeting Specialist Valassis

In the US, shopper targeting firm Valassis has promoted former COO Wayne Powers to the new role of President; and moved Greg Green to the expanded role of Chief Data and Analytics Officer at parent company Harland Clarke Holdings.

Valassis integrates online and off-line data to target its clients' most valuable shoppers wherever they 'plan, shop, buy and share'. In July, the firm launched a 'Consumer Activation Score', to help advertisers target 'value-oriented' audiences with relevant deals; and a month later, it acquired hyper-local digital ad targeting specialist MaxPoint and its proprietary Digital Zip technology. Powers, who has more than 25 years' experience in the media industry, joined in 2015 as Chief Revenue and Operating Officer, and most recently served as COO. Earlier, he held senior leadership positions at big data ad targeting firm Gravity4, Parade Media Group, Yahoo! and Time Inc., where he worked for twelve years and led four divisions: Media Networks inc.,Targeted Media, Corporate Sales & Marketing, and Time Inc. Custom Publishing.

Green joins Harland Clarke Holdings after serving as Valassis' first Data and Analytics Officer for the past year. He previously ran his own analytics consulting firm, FourThirds, having held leadership roles at Google, Digitas/Publicis Groupe Media and Ebiquity. Over a 25-year career to date, he has worked in areas such as data management, consumer analytics, marketing technology, sales operations and product development.
