Ogilvy CommonHealth Names New CEO

WPP health behavior change agency Ogilvy CommonHealth Worldwide (OCH) has appointed Andrew Schirmer as Chief Executive, North America. He takes over the position left vacant by Matt Giegerich, who left the agency last year.

Andrew SchirmerPart of the WPP Health & Wellness brand, OCH combines research in cognitive psychology and behavioral economics with creative ideas, to support clients' health-related communications programs. The agency collaborates with clients to gather insights about their brands, market challenges, and how to engage with their customers, and then uses these insights to form strategies and develop creative ideas.

Schirmer (pictured) joins from McCann Global Health, where as President he oversaw the group's global and public health unit, and before this he founded and led consumer health division, McCann HumanCare. Earlier, he served as President of Merkley + Partners, Executive Creative Director of Harrison and Star, and Founding Partner of S.U.N. Health Core.

In his new role, Schirmer will work closely with OCH COO Marc Weiner, Managing Partner Darlene Dobry, and Terry Cully, MD of OCH's offices in Canada. He will report to Mike Hudnall, CEO of WPP Health & Wellness, who comments: 'Andrew's professionally diverse background in healthcare marketing, consumer wellness, and public health and policy positions him well to help accelerate OCH's diversification and growth strategy moving forward. I have complete confidence that Andrew is the right person to unlock the potential of our people and our business as we move forward'.
