Digitab Being Wound Down by Kantar

London-based Digitab is being wound down by its parent company Kantar over the course of 2018 because of declining revenues. While Kantar has redeployed two employees elsewhere in the business, it says four others have been 'put at risk'.

Digitab Being Wound Down by KantarFounded in 1981 by Eric Willison, Derek Crabtree, Avril Flews and John Norman, Digitab provides start-to-end market research operations, tabulations and advanced analytics services to MR agencies and other organisations. Services include online surveys and communities, sample provision, postal surveys and statistical questionnaire design, along with a full range of data preparation and analysis services, statistical analyses and data delivery.

Digitab was acquired by Taylor Nelson (now part of Kantar) before 2004 and ran as a standalone business, servicing external clients in specialist sectors such as medical research and often on behalf of competitors. Jeremy Fletcher, Kantar's COO for the UK and Ireland, told DRNO that Digitab revenues have been in decline for some years, and following a strategic review over a number of months, it became clear that there was little prospect for change in what he describes as a declining sector, so the decision was made to close the business.

Existing clients have been informed about the firm's fate, and Digitab will continue to service their requirements until the end of the year.
