Ipsos Appoints CEO for South East Asia

Former Nielsen executive Suresh Ramalingam has joined Ipsos as CEO of South East Asia, with responsibility for Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Suresh RamalingamHe takes up the role with immediate effect, will be based in Kuala Lumpur and reports to Christophe Cambournac, CEO of AMEA (Asia, Middle East and Africa).

Ramalingam (pictured) spent more than two decades at Nielsen, in various leadership roles covering the Middle East and Africa, South East Asia, South Asia, Greater China, LATAM and Eastern Europe; and most recently worked as MD of Nielsen Consumer Insights (LATAM, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia).

Ipsos Chairman & CEO Didier Truchot says the group will 'aggressively pursue its accelerated growth plan with emphasis on significant business opportunities from the emerging markets'. He comments: 'A dedicated leader like Suresh will help map out and implement a South East Asia strategy focused on leveraging our capabilities, solutions and people to assist current and potential clients address their business priorities'.

Cambournac says the business has 'significant potential' for further growth in South East Asia, and adds: 'Suresh is an expert in emerging markets and knows South East Asia very well having lived and worked there. Having Suresh join our team is a clear demonstration of our commitment in realising Ipsos' accelerated growth ambition, but also clear evidence of the attraction of our vision and ambition'.
