Le Roy Confirmed as CEO of IAB Australia

At IAB Australia, Gai Le Roy has moved into the job of CEO full-time, having held the position on an interim basis since June; and has unveiled a new IAB Industry Charter confirming and adding to its objectives.

Gai Le RoyLe Roy has more than twenty years' experience working in MR and strategy roles in the media industry, and was the organisation's Director of Research for the last two years. She worked previously as COO of Gateway Research and General Manager of Audience Insights and Research for Fairfax Media.

IAB Australia Chair Cameron King says the Board undertook a thorough executive search process, lasting four months, and comments: 'Gai's track record is exemplary and her commitment to our industry is absolute. Her depth of experience and understanding of the issues that relate to digital advertising and measurement will enable her to lead the IAB towards its goal of supporting sustainable and diverse investment in digital advertising across all platforms in Australia'.

The new Charter, announced by Le Roy, stresses the organisation's focus on helping marketers and agencies understand how digital advertising can deliver on their business objectives. This will include continued commitment to 'standards that promote trust, steps to reduce friction in the ad supply chain; and ultimately improve ad experiences for consumers, advertisers and publishers'; and new focus on four specific areas of activity: digital ad effectiveness, data and data privacy; standards and guidelines; and improving the digital value chain.
