Leger Launches Revamped 'Happiness Index'

Canadian polling and MR firm Leger has launched its own Happiness Index, Daily Mood Index and Happiness Index at Work, five months after acquiring the Relative Happiness Index and the Workplace Happiness Index from marcoms consultant Pierre Côté.

Jean-Marc LégerFollowing the acquisitions, the Leger Happiness Index has been rolled out as a revamped version of Côté's Relative Happiness Index, based on responses from more than 100,000 people to a variety of surveys across North America and Europe. Both qual and quant methods are used to assesses and compare the general outlook of the populations covered. The Daily Mood Index is a new product, measuring trends in the population's mood over time; while data from the Happiness Index at Work focuses on Quebec, allowing clients to compare their group with the population as a whole, analyses by age and gender.

Company President Jean-Marc Léger (pictured) says of the launches: 'We want to allow users to calculate their changing moods over time and every day. It's a bit like the weather, this index now allows us to measure how the population of a given city, of a certain age, at any given time, is doing'.
