Ipsos Co-founder Recognised with Chaptal Award

Ipsos founder, Chairman and CEO Didier Truchot has received the Chaptal Award for Arts in Communication and Training, awarded annually for entrepreneurial successes and technological advances.

Didier TruchotAfter beginning his career at the French Institute of Public Opinion (IFOP), Truchot (pictured) founded Ipsos in 1975. In 2011, he led the acquisition of Synovate for EUR 595m, and more recently, the group acquired four GfK Custom Research businesses. According to reports, Truchot is just outside France's 100 richest people with an estimated net worth of EUR 550m.

Every year, the Society for Encouraging National Industry- founded in 1801 by Napoleon Bonaparte - presents the Chaptal Awards at the Hôtel de l'Industrie in Paris. Truchot received his distinction in recognition of his lifetime career. Already recognised by Ernst & Young and the magazine L'Entreprise as 'entrepreneur of the year' in 2001, Truchot said of his latest achievement: 'I am very honoured to receive this award. Since its creation, Ipsos' mission has been to give businesses and institutions the keys to understanding the world, providing an ample vision of society, markets and people. A particularly significant challenge in a period of profound transformation. This recognition that Ipsos has made a meaningful contribution to our market research profession, fills us with pride'.
