Global CEO Role Restored at The Leading Edge

Insight and strategy consultancy The Leading Edge has promoted Gillian O'Sullivan to the role of Global Chief Executive Officer, leading the business from Sydney. The position was last held by Andy Bateman, who left the company in 2013.

Gillian O'SullivanLast April the company, a subsidiary of Enero Group, reorganised its global leadership team, resulting in five London and Sydney-based directors being named Managing Partners. Then four months ago, O'Sullivan (pictured) joined in the newly created role of APAC CEO, having previously been Ipsos Marketing ANZ MD. Before this, she worked for AMR Interactive as Group Account Director; spent nearly ten years at Nielsen, latterly as Executive Director, leading the Consumer Research division in Australia; and she was a Strategic Account Director at Roy Morgan Research.

As part of the latest leadership changes, The Leading Edge has moved EMEA CEO Chris Paxton to sister agency Hotwire Communications, where he takes on the role of Chief Strategy Officer. Managing Partner Isobel Smyth will take the lead for the EMEA region and will report directly into O'Sullivan, who says her team is looking forward to continue working with Paxton on the clients it shares with Hotwire, and working with Smyth to realise the company's potential in the EMEA region.

Enero CEO Matt Melhuish adds: 'Gillian has worked in research and brand management for more than twenty years. She will continue to bring dynamism and enthusiasm to The Leading Edge across the APAC region and around the world. We are also very happy to be able to offer new and exciting opportunities for our leaders across the agencies and the world'.
