NGDATA Names New CEO as Luc Burgelman Steps Down

Customer engagement solutions company NGDATA has appointed Doug Gross as Chief Executive Officer, replacing co-founder Luc Burgelman who is leaving the business.

Ghent, Belgium-based NGDATA uses big data technology to help clients provide more connected customer experiences, and its Lily Customer DNA software continuously learns from customer behavior and context in real time. The firm also has offices in the US, elsewhere in Europe and in the Asia-Pacific region.

Gross (pictured) joins in the US with more than 30 years' international experience in the financial services sector. Most recently, he was Executive Director of Corporate Banking Solutions at FIS Global, prior to which he served as CEO of payments technology firm Clear2Pay America (acquired by FIS Global in 2014). Earlier, he held senior positions at S1, Unisys and HSBC.

In his new role, working alongside co-founder Frank Hamerlinck and the current management team, Gross will be responsible for developing and delivering marketing and customer engagement solutions, and preparing NGDATA for further international growth. He replaces serial entrepreneur Burgelman, who has not yet announced his future plans.
