UserTesting Launches Mobile Interview Feature

In the US, customer insights platform UserTesting has launched 'Live Conversation Mobile', a feature allowing users to interview customers on their mobile devices.

Andy MacMillanSan Francisco-based 'human insight' company UserTesting allows participants to record their screen activity and voice as they use a web site, providing feedback on issues such as why they're not buying a particular product or service. The firm acquired market research and user experience (UX) test panel provider UserMuse in January, adding respondent recruitment software for product usability testing and in-depth interviews. The company says its latest offering 'takes the convenience of 24/7, virtual 1:1 interviews beyond the desktop to Android and iOS mobile devices to provide brands with more opportunities to better understand their customers' mobile behavior and 'in the wild' experiences'.

With Live Conversation Mobile, consumers can share their mobile camera view to share their store experience with researchers; can agree to share information about their use of mobile apps; and can help test the usability of new apps. Respondents can be selected from UserTesting's panel or from among the user's own customers using its MyRecruit feature.

Nate Wright, VP of Product Marketing at UserTesting, says the launch is 'a game changer for our customers and the way they gather human insights from users across experiences - digital, mobile and in-store'.

The firm is backed by Accel and OpenView, and last year made major changes to its senior team, including a new CEO, Andy MacMillan (pictured) in May; a CMO and Chief People Office, in August; and a Chief Insights Officer in December.
