Buy Unites New South Wales Agencies

Sydney agency Taverner Research has acquired government, academic and financial sector specialist Jetty Research.

James Parker and Philip Mitchell-TavernerJetty is based in Coffs Harbour, around 540km north of Sydney, was founded in 2006 and has particular expertise in local government research, boasting more than thirty Councils in New South Wales as clients. Taverner is based in Sydney's Surry Hills area and was established by Philip Mitchell-Taverner (pictured right) in 1995. The full service firm also works for local, state and federal government and academic institutions, in addition to commercial B2B and B2C clients, and other research agencies.

The firms say the combined group, for which Jetty Research founder James Parker (pictured left) becomes National Research Director, will have a CATI capacity of more than 40 seats, and enhanced reach in face-to-face (CAPI) research, particularly in metro and regional NSW, providing clients with 'a regional NSW presence, together with a wider scale and range of services'.

Taverner MD Michael Trigwell says the companies 'already have two of the highest quality and most cost-effective CATI facilities in Australia', adding: 'Now we will have even greater capacity to conduct research and recruitment projects, at an extremely competitive price'. According to Parker, 'The two companies have complementary strengths and the combined entity will give clients the best of both worlds - still the small company feel but with large company resourcing'.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
