Phoenix MI Hires Nielsen's Tamil Gurusamy as CTO

In the US, full-service ad and brand research specialist Phoenix Marketing International has appointed former Nielsen exec Tamilselvan Gurusamy as Chief Technology Officer.

Tamil GurusamyFounded in 1999, the company now boasts more than 400 employees across seven offices in the US, plus Hamburg, London, Shanghai and Mexico City. Last year, it acquired Nielsen's TV Brand Effect (TVBE) assets, making it one of the country's largest ad and brand performance measurement firms.

Gurusamy (pictured) joins as part of this acquisition, having previously served as SVP, Technology at Nielsen, where he led digital expansion, the AWS cloud transition of the firm's Brand Effect product portfolio, development of the Ad & Content Ratings platforms and expansion to the China market. In his new role, Gurusamy will be responsible for supporting delivery of the firm's ad and brand solutions, while managing app and CX platform development, business intelligence and the Business Analysis teams.

He will be based in Phoenix MI's office in Oldsmar, Florida and report directly into Scott Spry, COO. Commenting on the appointment, Chairman and CEO Allen DeCotiis said: 'Tamil is an extremely well-respected figure within our industry.
