Engine Hires First Chief Operating Officer

In New York, data-driven marketing solutions group Engine has hired Bloomberg Media exec Keith Grossman as its first Chief Operating Officer. He will join the company on April 15.

Keith GrossmanEngine, which was acquired by Chicago-based Lake Capital in 2014, offers market research and data analytics, along with ad, branding, CRM and PR services, and digital media buying. Last summer, the group restructured, bringing three of its existing North America-based business units - ORC, Deep Focus and Engine Media - under the single brand 'Engine', while retaining the ORC International brand in the UK.

Grossman (pictured) will join from Bloomberg Media, where he has served as Global Chief Revenue Officer since 2016, and played a 'significant role' in the firm's digital transformation, including the creation of its programmatic business. He previously held senior roles at Ars Technica, WIRED and Conde Nast. In the newly created position, Grossman will work closely with Global CEO Kasha Cacy to deliver the company's long-term growth strategy, aligning and optimizing sales, marketing, and new product opportunities across the global business.

Commenting on the appointment, Cacy said: 'Partnering with a force like Keith, who brings the energy and expertise we need to take our business to the next level, is another strategic move that positions Engine for exponential growth and innovation. His deep relationships with brands, agencies and publishers enable him to imagine solutions and services based on market need, and I'm confident he will help us do previously unimagined things for our clients, grow our business and continue to make the industry better for everyone.'
