Angus Reid Global Opens Public Affairs Division

In Canada, recently launched public opinion research specialist Angus Reid Global has opened a Public Affairs Research division, and named Demetre Eliopoulos as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the new practice.

Launched in February by Canadian pollster Angus Reid, the firm provides access to its Angus Reid Forum opinion community, while also delivering data intelligence to help companies and brands make informed decisions.

Eliopoulos (pictured) was previously VP, Public Affairs at Maru/Matchbox (formed through the acquisition of the North American Research Consulting division of Vision Critical, a customer intelligence platform founded by Reid's son Andrew Reid. Earlier, Eliopoulos spent more than six years at Vision Critical, having previously held senior roles at Rogers Consumer Publishing and Digital Media Group and Pollara Strategic Insights.

Commenting on the news, Reid said: 'It's our objective to ensure that political leaders, business leaders, policy makers and decision makers have access to superior advice to meet today's challenges. I selected Demetre to head up this practice because of his unparalleled research expertise and deep knowledge in the public affairs space.'
