TABS Analytics Buys Decision Insight

US firm TABS Analytics has acquired virtual shopper marketing research and analytics business Decision Insight. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Kurt JettaKansas City-based Decision Insight specializes in uncovering shopper behavior and motivations, using its proprietary Shopper IQ and Digital.IQ platforms for brick and mortar and eCommerce analysis. TABS says the deal will enhance its own offerings with the integration of the Decision Insight SimuShop virtual shopping platform, providing research across food and beverage, pet needs, household goods, durables, toys and gaming, pharmaceutical, alcoholic beverage and restaurant categories.

In addition to growing organically, TABS acquired global business intelligence firm Pivotstream in 2017, and earlier this year it bought Hybrid Intelligence, which provides services to operationalize data and analytics capabilities. The latest acquisition increases TABS's employee and revenue base by almost 50%, and the company now has more than 60 employees. Decision Insight President and CEO Cathy Allin will remain President and join the TABS Board of Directors.
