Expansion and Investment for Insights People

UK-based Insights People has created eight new jobs, after receiving backing from business support agency, GC Business Growth Hub. The company is also seeking to finalise another round of investment to further scale its US and European businesses, and to launch into Asia.

Nick RichardsonInsights People, which is headquartered in Manchester, is made up of three arms: Bee Industrious, an MR agency providing clients with bespoke solutions; Kids Insights, offering marketers a range of resources on the consumption and behaviour trends of 4-to-18-year-olds; and Parents Insights, a market intelligence resource for all things 'parenting, mum and baby'. In March, the group expanded its services to Europe following a raft of client wins, and it appointed three new members of staff to support this growth.

CEO Nick Richardson (pictured) initially approached the Hub - which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund - in 2017, looking for support to develop both his firm's online platform and range of client-facing products. In addition, Hub advisor Paul Halliday put The Insights People in touch with the Department for International Trade (DIT), which provided the company with funding support to launch the Kids Insights US service and the opening of an operation in New York last October.

The company now employs fifteen members of staff, and the eight new roles created with assistance from the Hub include that of a Chief Commercial Officer, Developer and a Researcher. Richardson comments: 'With such an aggressive growth strategy we have needed to not only recruit a team of highly capable individuals who share our vision but have the aptitude to make it happen. The same can be said for the team of advisors we have supporting us, as without their commitment and support, we would not have achieved what we have done to date. Their support will also be crucial as we enter the next stage of our growth as we look to secure and finalise the next round of investment to further scale our US and European businesses and launch into Asia'.
