Ray Poynter Joins Potentiate as Chief Research Officer

Industry veteran Ray Poynter has joined Australian data intelligence company Potentiate as Chief Research Officer, responsible for driving the firm's product innovation, research techniques, team education agenda and supporting client engagements. He is based in Nottingham, UK.

Ray PoynterPotentiate focuses on customer experience management, employee engagement and market insights; offering a consultancy-led approach combined with technology. Last month, the company conditionally acquired Vision Critical Australia in a move to help brands strengthen customer relationships, while enabling Potentiate to expand and collaborate in additional markets around the world. Poynter (pictured) joins with a 40-year background in the MR sector. He is the founder of The Future Place and its #NewMR project, which organises online events, runs a web site providing industry content and the LinkedIn NewMR group. Earlier in his career, he worked at The Research Business, before moving into senior-level positions at IntelliQuest, Millward Brown, and Virtual Surveys, and serving as a Consultant for Colmar Brunton and Vision Critical.

In addition, Poynter is a member of the ESOMAR council; has presented and chaired many industry events; and lectures on business, MR, marketing and insight at Nottingham Trent University. He is also the author of The Handbook of Mobile Market Research (www.mrweb.com/mrt), The Handbook of Online and Social Media Research, and the IPASOCIALWORKS' The Guide to Measuring not Counting, and he is the Editor of ESOMAR's Answers to Contemporary Market Research Questions.
