Omnicom Buys German Firm Smart Digital

Omnicom's digital and CRM division OPMG has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Smart Digital GmbH, a consulting and marketing tech company with a proprietary AI platform and a focus on data-driven real-time customer experiences.

Luke TaylorGerlinger, Germany-based Smart Digital was founded in 2011, and offers technology which recognises users across digital touchpoints and delivers personalized interactions in real-time. Its services also include data management, advice on end-to-end digital strategy, and cross-channel marketing.

Luke Taylor (pictured), CEO of OPMG says the deal will strengthen his company's AI and personalization capabilities, but also help to offer clients 'powerful end-to-end customer experience solutions'. Thomas Vogt, founder and CEO of Smart Digital, comments: 'With OPMG, we have found a partner who shares our ambitions and whose portfolio we ideally complement with our own services. Together, we will offer integrated and innovative solutions to clients that have never been available before'.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the third quarter.
OPMG (Omnicom Precision Marketing Group) is part of the DAS Group of Companies, a division of Omnicom Group Inc. that includes more than 200 companies.
