Ipsos Debuts Medical Aesthetics Monitor

Ipsos has launched a new syndicated Medical Aesthetics Monitor, beginning in South Korea and with plans to expand to Europe and North America.

Pieter De RichterThe new study combines real-world evidence - in-depth usage metrics for medical aesthetics products - with perception data from various stakeholders, including physicians' attitudes towards different procedures and brands, and a consumer panel to provide a 360-degree view of the medical aesthetics market.

As with Ipsos' other Global Therapy Monitors, the new Monitor collects patient record forms from a representative panel of treating physicians, who also complete a questionnaire on their own perceptions. The patient record form captures key metrics such as facial site, brand/formulation share, reasons for product choice, procedure cost and patient segmentation. The new study will initially focus on dermal fillers, with botulin toxins to be included in Q4 2019.

Pieter De Richter, Ipsos' Head of Real World Evidence in Asia Pacific, Middle East & North Africa comments: 'Our Medical Aesthetics Monitor allows companies that market dermal fillers, toxins and related products to navigate this increasingly complex market by capturing detailed information on their product positioning versus their competitors' - both from a real-world prescription standpoint and through a closer look at perceptions and drivers'.
