Launch for Video-Based Survey Tool TalkBackTime

In Washington DC, former NBC colleagues Allan Horlick and Bob Okun have launched an online survey tool called TalkBackTime, which delivers qualitative feedback through user-recorded video clips.

Allan Horlick and Bob OkunInitially developed as a platform known as VoteandVideo.com, designed to capture voter video feedback about the presidential campaign, the cloud-based tool now called TalkBackTime is used to enhance research by uncovering 'true' audience insight and opinion. Through the solution, marketers, researchers and customer experience execs can watch body language, hear tone of voice, and witness the emotions of customers who respond to opinion polls and satisfaction surveys.

Survey recipients record their video response using the camera in their smartphone, laptop or tablet and hit the submit button. Videos are delivered directly back to the business account holder, who can sort and view the results in the private platform dashboard using any number of filters. Companies can then post relevant videos on their web site as customer testimonials, or include them in social media campaigns.

Horlick comments: 'We're excited to see how TalkBackTime resonates with business leaders who need to keep their finger on the pulse of their customers, employees and partner experiences and interactions with their products and services. The software not only improves survey data analysis by seeing respondents' actual tone, mood and body language but delivers user-generated feedback that can be re-purposed online in a variety of ways'.
