Sony Pictures Names Joint Marketing and Research SVPs

In the US, Sony Pictures has promoted Chris Liberge and Kate Donnelly, both taking the title of Senior Vice President of Global Strategic Marketing and Research. The pair will co-run Sony's new group of film-specific 'strategy pods'.

Chris Liberge and Kate DonnellyPrior to joining at the beginning of last year, Liberge worked for National Research Group as VP of Campaign Strategy, developing a tracking product that allows studios to track and manage both established and emerging film franchises. Prior to this he worked for Twentieth Century Fox as Manager, International Market Research, helping vendors design custom quant and qual studies and presenting insights to the worldwide theatrical marketing team. Earlier, he was a Senior Analyst, Media & Entertainment at WPP-owned market research and political polling specialist Penn Schoen Berland.

Donnelly began her career twelve years ago at Sony, as an intern in the Screen Gems/TriStar marketing group. She currently oversees marketing research for Sony's international markets and provides insights and direction across Europe, Asia and Latin America. In between, she also worked at Penn Schoen Berland, developing custom research for several movie studios.

In their new roles, both continue to report to EVP Worldwide Digital Marketing Elias Plishner. In a statement, Sony said the promotions add to the company's ongoing effort to expand its marketing department and better support how it markets movies around the world.
