New CTO for Sitecore
Digital experience management software firm Sitecore has named Tom De Ridder as Chief Technology Officer.
 Sitecore delivers a digital Experience Platform which manages content, supplies contextual intelligence and automates ad targeting for a range of big brand clients. In September, the online press reported the company had laid off around 70 employees, c.5% of its workforce, possibly in anticipation of an acquisition, but as yet it remains owned by Swedish private equity investor EQT, which took ownership in April 2016.
De Ridder (pictured) was co-founder and CTO of Stylelabs, where he led the development of a cloud-native SaaS solution. In his new role he will lead the firm's 'critical future-focused technology innovations', including Content Hub and a forthcoming Saas version of the Platform.
Sitecore also has expanded the role of Desta Price, EVP of Product Management, already responsible for driving product vision and strategy, and now also heading up engineering for the firm's current platform technologies, including Sitecore Experience Platform, Experience Commerce and AI.
De Ridder reports to CEO Mark Frost, who comments: 'Evolving our technology into a true SaaS offering sits at the heart of our strategic ambitions, but we also have a responsibility to protect our customers' investments and continue to deliver innovation on the products they are using today. Tom and Desta provide the strongest leadership foundation for Sitecore to increase the pace of innovation across our products.
