Gyana Raises Funds for No-Code Data Science Approach

London-based Gyana - a platform through which non-technical people can run data science analytics on any structured dataset - has secured a $3.9m round of funding, which it will use to drive its next stage of growth across Europe and India.

Joyeeta Das and David KellFounded in 2015 by Oxford University post-grad students Joyeeta Das and David Kell, Gyana develops 'no code' software for 'citizen data scientists'. This software uses more than 80 data points for tracking human movement via mobile devices; with data processed through the platform's artificial intelligence, to produce real-time analysis of consumer behaviour.

New funding has been led by Fuel Ventures, with participation from Biz Stone of Twitter, Green Shores Capital and U+I, bringing the total raised to date to $6.8m. Das comments: 'Not everyone on the planet is suited to being a developer, and even though newer generations are becoming more computer literate, we think there will still be a limited pool of professional high-level developers. As such, as businesses become increasingly tech-heavy, there is only ever going to be a growing need for no-code platforms to take the burden off of development teams'.
