Ex-Kantar Leader Terrance Kent Named SRDS Chief

Long-time Nielsen / Kantar exec Terrance Kent has been appointed CEO of SRDS (Standard Rate & Data Service), which Kantar recently sold to French ad tech company Adwanted Group.

Terrance KentSRDS is used by ad agencies and brands to find and compare online and traditional media across business and consumer audiences; and by media sellers to communicate their proposition and offer multi-channel programs. In 2018, Adwanted USA entered into an exclusive strategic partnership with Kantar Media, to license SRDS data on 6,700 US B2B and consumer magazines and integrate this data with the Adwanted platform. The deal marked the first time SRDS subscribers were able to execute media buys with legacy media, in addition to conducting campaign research and planning, all on one digital platform.

Kent (pictured) moves to SRDS after nearly a decade at Kantar, latterly as Global CEO Advertising Intelligence, responsible for global strategy, growth and operations; and was previously CEO, Kantar Media North America. Having initially joined TNS Media in 2008 as Digital Development Director, after its acquisition by WPP, Kent was promoted to CEO US Kantar Media, overseeing a portfolio of businesses. Earlier, he spent sixteen years in senior roles at Dutch media company VNU, including a period as President of Marketing Information Services; and as an original member of VNU's acquisition and management team in the US, he was involved in the takeover of Nielsen Media Research. More recently, he formed a mentoring and advisory consultancy, The Kent Advisory Group.

Adwanted Group CEO Emmanuel Debuyck comments: 'Terry is a perfect fit for SRDS and is ideally suited to leading the company into its next incarnation as a key component in Adwanted's automated media marketplace. His primary brief is to build SRDS into a critical mass marketplace where media planners and buyers can engage in automated, one-stop planning and buying for traditional media on a single platform'.
