Manufacturing Consultancy Launches

In the US, economic research and forecasting specialist Cliff Waldman has launched a consulting and research firm called New World Economics, to help clients understand the impact of government policies and other market forces on manufacturing companies.

Cliff WaldmanWaldman (pictured) is currently Chair, Board of Governors of non-profit educational organization The National Economists Club; and he previously served as Chief Economist at the MAPI Foundation, which provides research on manufacturing's role in the US and global economies. In this latter role, he prepared a quarterly forecast of the US manufacturing sector via a large-scale macroeconometric model. He began his career as a Research Economist at the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development, before joining the National Federation of Independent Business as an Economist, and then setting up his own economic consulting firm, Waldman Consulting.

Arlington, VA-based New World Economics also offers a range of data-related services including the creation of indicators for sales forecasting and corporate productivity metrics for operational assessment. In addition to corporate clients, the firm offers research services to governments and universities, and partners with Avar Consulting to offer survey research on markets, products, customers, employees and industries.

Says Waldman: 'My vision, developed over the past two years, is to leverage the tools of economics in conjunction with the rapidly evolving techniques of data science to create a professional services firm that will be a crucial asset for decision making in the factory sector. In these early days of our new company, this vision has powered our success with clients and will be our driving force going forward'.
