UM Names First Chief Privacy Officer

In New York, IPG Mediabrands global media agency network UM has promoted Arielle Garcia for the newly created role of Chief Privacy Officer.

Arielle GarciaOperating in more than 100 countries, with a team of more than 5,000 people, UM delivers science through business analytics and real-time intelligence. Garcia (pictured) joined the company in 2013, and most recently served as SVP, Business Operations and Compliance. She began her career as a political analyst intern for The Agenda Project, before taking up the role of Executive Assistant at Genesis Capital Group, and then Research Assistant for Professor Charles J. Moxley Jr, from the Fordham University School of Law.

In her new position, Garcia will oversee the launch and implementation of UM's privacy program, and will be responsible for building and scaling its consulting offerings around privacy, trust and brand safety. She will also spearhead the IPG Mediabrands Privacy Taskforce, while continuing to manage her previous responsibility for overseeing operations and compliance for the ExxonMobil account.
