Retail IT Veteran Joins Aberdeen Group

Technology researchers Aberdeen Group have appointed retail information veteran Paula Rosenblum, formerly of AMR Research, as Director of Retail Research.

Rosenblum has more than 25 years of experience dealing with retail information technology, including nearly a decade as chief information officer of retail chains such as iParty and Domain Home Fashions. She is a graduate of the State University of New York and holds a master's degree in high technology from Northeastern University.

She will be responsible for the release of four studies over the next 12 months, centred around the theme of 'Next Generation Retail: The Post-Wal-Mart World'. Individual reports will look at the use of science to supplement intuitive processes and run more efficient enterprises, improving supplier-retailer collaboration, improving sourcing processes to react better to consumer demand and 'empowering' stores to meet consumer needs and give competitive advantage.

Jamie Bedard, Aberdeen's president and CEO, says that over the last 6 months the company has been assembling a team 'with strong backgrounds and practical hands-on experience... giving the company a 'been there done that' point of view lacking in traditional IT market research'.

Aberdeen Group is headquartered in Boston and offers strategic advice on value chains and technology using continuous benchmarking, primary research and analysis. Its web site is at www.aberdeen.com
