YouGov Partners in SA, Adds Two More Sector Heads

YouGov has created two new senior roles - Global Sector Heads for Travel & Tourism, and Leisure & Entertainment - and has a new South African affiliate, MR agency KLA.

Eva Satkute Stewart and Oliver RoweEva Satkute Stewart (pictured left), formerly Commercial Director at Oxford Economics, joins YouGov as its first Global Sector Head of Travel and Tourism; while Director of Reputation Oliver Rowe (right) is promoted to Global Sector Head of Leisure and Entertainment.

Satkute Stewart brings a wealth of business development experience, most recently from Oxford Economics where she was Director of Global Business Development for the Tourism Economics subsidiary, and earlier group Commercial Director. Earlier she spent nearly eight years in bus dev roles for Euromonitor, and three and a half working at Oracle.

Oliver has worked with YouGov for thirteen years, advising companies including Tesco and Barclays on their reputation management; and earlier served as Head of Research for London's Capital Radio, and Head of Insight at Mediaedge:cia. His new role includes coverage of the betting and gaming industry.

The two are now charged with taking the company's global business in these areas through the next stage of growth. Frank Saez, YouGov's Global Head of Sector Experts, comments: 'As consumers' behaviours and attitudes adapt and change, there's never been a more important time to understand them. We hope that these appointments will help our clients emerge from the pandemic stronger than ever'.

Johannesburg-based KLA joins YouGov's Global Partnerships Programme, last week enhanced with the addition of Vietnam's Decision Lab. The deal gives KLA, which operates an online consumer panel of 20,000+ members, immediate access to YouGov's 'Cube' proprietary database of consumer attitudes and behaviour, and its 'Plan & Track' solution including the Profiles and BrandIndex tools.

Stephan Shakespeare, CEO and co-founder of YouGov says his firm is excited to partner with KLA, 'which is recognised as a leader in research in South Africa'. He adds: 'The relationship will help YouGov establish our brand in South Africa and give KLA the great benefits our Global Partnerships Programme provides. As well as gaining access to YouGov's technology platforms and suite of data products, they also plug into our infrastructure, helping them to grow their business and expand their client base'.

KLA Research Director Caitlin Bauristhene comments: 'If the role of data is to empower business leaders to make fact-based decisions, and navigate changing times with a degree of sure-footedness, then the data has to be recent, robust and on-tap. This is why we have partnered with YouGov'. MD Steph Matterson adds: 'We're excited about YouGov's products, reputation, geographic footprint, and working models, not to mention the potential of this partnership for our country and for Africa. The opportunity to use tried and tested research innovations and platforms to democratise access to a continuous stream of consumer data is ground-breaking for South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa'.

YouGov boasts a proprietary global panel of over 8 million people, and has operations in the UK, North America, Mainland Europe, the Nordics, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
