Cisco to Buy Customer Interaction Tech Firm IMImobile

Network tech giant Cisco has announced it is to acquire London-based customer interaction data and tech provider IMImobile, and will create a 'Customer Experience as a Service' (CXaaS) offer. The $730m deal is expected to close in Q1 2021.

Jay PatelIMImobile provides cloud communications software and services that manage customer interactions at every touchpoint, and help enterprises stay connected to their customers through interactive channels including social media, messaging and voice. The company has offices across the UK, USA, Canada, India, South Africa and the UAE, with 1,100 employees.

According to Cisco, the deal will merge its Webex Contact Center solution with IMImobile's software and services, for a combined solution connecting customers in their channel of choice along their journey, providing the data needed for personalization. Upon completion of the transaction, the IMImobile team will join Cisco's Contact Center business unit, led by Omar Tawakol, VP and General Manager.
