Norstat to Buy Danish Data Collection Firm DMA

Oslo, Norway-based data collection company Norstat has signed an agreement to acquire Danish MR counterpart DMA Research A/S. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Jesper PlatzDMA was founded in 1979 and has headquarters in Copenhagen, with production facilities in Århus. The firm offers traditional data collection methods, online services, telephone interviews, qualitative recruitment, mystery shopping and face-to-face interviews. MD Jesper Platz (pictured) - who previously spent a decade at Norstat, latterly as MD in Denmark - will return as Project Director, responsible for integrating new companies into the group, and contributing to European business development.

Following the deal, the firms say they will aim for revenue of more than 500m NOK in 2021. After the acquisition Norstat will have a presence in twelve European markets, more than 170 full-time employees and over 1500 part-time staff, and the transaction adds both production capabilities and expertise to the Norstat group. Tue Meier-Poulsen, Norstat's MD in Denmark, will continue in his current position.

Norstat CEO Erling Eriksen says the acquisition is in line with the group's overall strategy. 'We have followed DMA closely and been impressed by its quality standards and the strong team's ability to create growth and strong results. DMA has a very interesting global client portfolio, and this acquisition will strengthen Norstat`s ability to handle complex projects, while simultaneously increasing our production capabilities in the Danish market'.
