Arbitron Strengthens PPM Team

Arbitron Inc. has announced two key leadership changes to strengthen its Portable People Meter (PPM) marketing team. Jay Guyther becomes Senior Vice President of PPM Marketing (US and international) and Brad Bedford Vice President, International PPM Marketing.

Guyther will identify and target customer needs with respect to all ratings applications for the PPM worldwide, and will act as a liaison between radio industry groups, including the Radio Advisory Council and Radio Advertising Bureau. Arbitron's President of US Media Services Owen Charlebois, to whom Guyther will report directly, says 'A key part of Jay's responsibility will be to work with the radio industry to help address the issues and concerns the industry has as it considers a transition to electronic measurement'.

With over 25 years of radio industry experience, Guyther was responsible for the multi-country PPM license agreement with TNS in 2003, and previously served as the general manager of radio services, developing diary samples and introducing two new services, Maximi$er(r) and MapMaker. He received his B.S. in Business Administration and M.B.A. in Marketing at Loyola College, Baltimore.

Bedford, whose new responsibilities will cover all international marketing and client service activities and include the negotiation of PPM licensing agreements, served as Vice President of the Internet Broadcasting Services division before joining the international PPM team in 2003. He received his B.S. in Business Administration at University of Michigan of Ann Arbor. Bedford will report directly to Pierre Bouvard.

The two will continue to work together on key international PPM marketing efforts such as RAJAR in the UK and BBM in Canada.
