Company Data Firm OpenCorporates Names New CEO

In London, company data provider OpenCorporates has promoted former dunnhumby exec Sarah Arana-Morton to the role of Chief Executive Officer, succeeding founder Chris Taggart, who has been named Chief Strategy Officer.

Sarah Arana-MortonOpenCorporates has built an open database containing information on almost 200 million companies in 140 jurisdictions - all from primary public sources. Arana-Morton (pictured) joined in 2017 as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for accelerating growth of the firm's US client base, including government agencies, technology platforms, financial organisations and professional services firms. Prior to this, she spent nearly fifteen years at Tesco-owned data science firm dunnhumby, where she latterly served as Global Head of Brand, having developed business units across Europe, Asia-Pacific and the US.

She takes over from Taggart, who set up the company in 2011. Oliver Ratzesberger, Chair of the firm's Operating Board, comments: 'The Covid pandemic highlights that organisations need to understand who they're doing business with at the legal entity level. Sarah's experience, drive and customer focus make her the ideal candidate to lead OpenCorporates at this pivotal time.'
