Curion Buy Adds Ideation Capabilities

Product and package insights firm Curion Holdings has announced the acquisition of Minneapolis, MN-based consumer research firm Ravel - formerly Smith Dahmer Associates.

Ravel MD Tammy LeviRavel offers qual and quant research, along with ideation methodologies, to clients in the durable goods, retail, healthcare and CPG categories. Curion was formed in 2017 through the merger of consumer product testing agency Q Research Solutions (QRS) and sensory methodology developer Tragon Corporation, and has bases in San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas and New York. Last December it acquired Georgia's PVR Research, a quant and qual focus room facility.

Curion CEO Sean Bisceglia says the combination will provide 'a holistic research approach that captures insights from ideation to launching on shelves, and everything in between'. The firm says the buy is 'equally rooted in strategic growth and a commitment to full-service insights excellence', and points to 'strong growth and more bold moves in 2022'.

Ravel MD Tammy Levi (pictured) comments: 'Our focus, as always, is to give our clients inspiration to generate great ideas and the confidence to make big decisions. Our creative thinking, together with Curion's product and package testing expertise, will enable us to provide clients with a broader range of insights across the entire customer journey'.
