MRS Launches Research Executive Apprenticeship Scheme

UK-based trade association MRS (Market Research Society) has launched the Level 4 Market Research Executive Apprenticeship programme, to attract and train school leavers aged 18 or older as well as to upskill employees already working in a research role.

Abbie BradleyThrough the scheme, apprentices will learn to collect, analyse and interpret findings using qualitative and quantitative and digital and non-digital techniques. MRS says the programme aims to promote 'social mobility' and to continue to build a diverse and inclusive sector that reflects the population.

It has been created in collaboration with agencies and businesses, including Ipsos MORI, Maritz, Shift-Learning, Firefish Group, ampersand research, Cello Health, Yonder, Disney, Channel 4, Compare the Market (BGL Group), Transport for West Midlands, the House of Commons, and Hackney Council, and has been approved by the Institute of Apprenticeships and Technical Education. Seema Malhotra, MP and Shadow Minister for Small Business, Consumers and Labour Markets, says the scheme will help change the way in to sectors beyond the traditional university route, which is often out of reach or not of interest to many.

Abbie Bradley (pictured), a 19-year-old apprentice on the programme at Ipsos MORI, comments: 'I have been able to learn so much from people inside and outside of the business and I have been overwhelmed with the support I have received. The apprenticeship is a win-win for businesses and young people. By investing time in apprentices, employers are able to mould talent to what their business needs.'
